I doubt this post will ever be seen by anyone at Dart but I figure I'd post here anyhow.
Yacht Drive is a non-gazetted road owned by Ken Dart through one of his corporations here in Grand Cayman. Meaning it's a private road effectively a long drive way.
Unfortunately there are no side walks on this road. The road is used by many including residence that live in Vista Del Mar, Salt Creek, Stone Island and homes along the road. It's also used by services and the helpers of people that live in these homes.
Although there's a posted 25 mile sign no one drives the speed limit in fact I've seen some with their fancier cars from Vista ripping down this road at well over 60 miles.
It's a real danger as I see it as many people walk along the side of this road with their pets, babies in strollers, etc.. Some drivers are reluctant to even move over and will literally brush you as they drive by.
I just wanted to get it out there that speed bumps on Yacht Drive would be helpful in controlling the speed of traffic. I don't mean the measly speed bump that they installed after Vista but proper speed bumps like they have in Britannia. These would certainly do the job in preventing people from abusing this road and driving way too fast.
